For communication purposes, sometimes labels can be helpful. But sometimes not, they can actually be a hindrance. For example, what do you label someone who does not fit squarely into the box of the label? One then has to revert to hyphens, slashes, comparisons and overly wordy explanations to quantify and qualify your words, to ensure you don’t get the wrong impression. I’m not saying this is wrong, I’m just saying there may be times when labels, boxes, definitions, camps, tribes and schools of thought are lacking. That is why one could label me a Freethinking Liberty Constitutional-Theorist. What does this label even mean? Maybe it is more accurate to say I’m an Anarcho-capitalist, Minarchist, Minimalist, Libertarian, Post-Post-Modern, Voluntarist, Egalitarianist, Free Association, Non-Partisan, tall, Modern Contemplative, Stoic, Bushidoist, Post-Evangelical, Neo-Identityist, Semi-Objectionist Free Thinker. Or maybe I’m not? I don’t know. I’m still trying to figure it out.
