Democracy?

Some would say we live in a democracy, I would say we left that system long ago. Even the concept of “Majority Rules” is kind of odd. Just because the majority of a group decides something, doesn’t necessarily mean that thing is right. The concept of majority rules works better the smaller the social group. A small team of 10 people may do well to follow majority rules. But once you scale up the social group, say to something like 330 million, it becomes less and less effective. Should someone in New York City decide something for a farmer in rural Kansas? Should a farmer in rural Kansas decide something for on in New York City?
